No audio after update for rmvb files

Postby Vlcfanatic » April 13th, 2012, 10:39 pm

After installing updates, I'm getting no audio when playing files on my iPad or iPhone. Was working perfectly before. I reinstalled both the iOS app and helper on my pc but to avail of no luck. Video is fine, just no audio :(

Any help would be much appreciated.

I discovered it is only happening with rmvb files but this was working fine previously. Was there some change to the codecs in The recent updates? I really hope you resolve this issue quickly. Thx.

rmvb files have always been troublesome. I don't know enough about the innards of vlc to say exactly what has happened - but as a rule, I assume that things get better overall.

you can change the version of vlc used if you want to experiment; You'll find the copy we use in the app folder

Mac OS
-click 'open package contents' on then app, then go to Resources/VLC

Windows
program files/hobbyist software/vlc streamer/vlc

I thin the 2.0.0 release was the previous one we used

I switched back to V2.2 and all is good again. Thanks for the tip. Hopefully future versions will fix the issue.

I have encountered the same issue. Can someone provide a link to v2.2?
