no, but you won'te get immediate responses.

these steps fix most issues with the helper crashing. If they don't
work, then let us know.

1) Make sure that windows is fully updated

2) Reinstall .NET (.net gets corrupted surprisingly frequently)
-Uninstall .NET using the add/remove programs control panel. The key
part to uninstall is the framework.
-Reinstall .NE from here
http://www.microsoft.com/net/download (click on the big 'Install .NET
Framework 4' button)
-Or uninstall and re-install VLC Streamer. It will download .NET automatically.

4) reboot

hopefully that will help. Let us know if not.

no huge insights there I'm afraid.

I did just upload a new build which fixes some logging issues. No real expectation that it will change anything for you -but worth a try.

It sounds like a Windows 7 System problem. The best way to see if your system is configured correctly is to try to do a Windows Update (Manual) - If it does not allow you to get an Update, if you get an 0x800xxxxx error, then you need to fix your system files. Two ways to do this:

Have your original Windows 7 DVD in the drive and type, in a command prompt, SFC/SCANNOW - All of your system files will be re-installed, including all of the default services.

If your system DOES do a manual Windows Update, then you will have to do an IN-PLACE INSTALL:

You can only do this from a working Windows 7 GUI. Boot up your Windows, shut off any and every unnecessary programs. Run the SETUP from the DVD, tell it NOT to download updates for Windows Setup Files. At the appropriate place during the install, you will be asked if you wish to do either an UPDATE or a Clean Install. Choose UPDATE. Then this will restore all of your services to default settings.

There are some errors which may prevent you from running an SFC or an In-Place install, certain 0x800xxx errors cannot be fixed. Hopefully you do not have any of those.

If you have installed any Service Packs from the time of original install and the time you try an In Place Install, you will have to uninstall those. Removing those may screw up the system, but I've uninstalled Win 7 SP1 a dozen times and it comes out clean. It should still boot to the GUI. Then simply reinstall your original windows. If you try to do the In-Place Install from a Windows DVD that has a service pack that was not installed during the original update, that disk will not work. So if you have installed Service Pack 1, and you have the uninstaller for it, remove it (It's not that important of an update anyway). Then you will have to re-activate windows, which should be automatic if the hardware was never changed. If it has, you will have to call them and get a new Product Key.

Once you get the system back to default, the program should install and operate properly.

That sounds like a lot to do, but if you are installing programs and their services fail to start, you have a corrupted system. Also, before anything else, check your Antivirus programs and make sure they are not blocking that service, cos I've seen that happen too.

D'OH! I just read your Service Log. You BONJOUR service is not starting? THAT is the problem. You will have to totally remove Bonjour from the system. There are uninstaller packages that will do this, you have to google. I've fixed Bonjour before, and I'm an experienced user, it has to be totally removed from the system and then re-installed. You will have to do it from a stand alone installer, look for an installer for "Bonjour Print Services"

If you have "Air Mouse"-The helper app for that has that package as part of the setup, you can use that. You can just search Air Mouse and download the helper app, and extract the Bonjour installer from it.
