Hi,

here is a quick feedback. The problems are not gone with the new version.
I still need to restart the Off Helper service after starting the PC to get Off Remote
working.

ok - could you repeat the steps to get the problem again, do the restart of Off, then click on the 'send log' button in the bottom right of the configuration helper.

The reason to re-do the steps is to make sure that the problem appears towards the end of the log (so we have a chance of finding it)

When trying to view or send the log file Off Configuration is crashing.
Where is the log file stored?

PS: btw. I changed the start option for the Off Helper service to 'automatic delayed' which seems to fix the problem. Is not a real solution but a work around.

do you get any kind of report on the crash for sending the log? (we'd like to fix that bug too).

the log location varies by os - but if you click on the 'view log' option then it will open the log. You can then do 'save as' to figure out where it lives, or just save a copy elsewhere.

could you let me know if it manages to send the log without crashing?

we are also going to set the next version to delayed start by default. Hopefully that will simplify things somewhat.

With the tewaked version I was able to send the log. The log includes older records as well so wit was created already before using the tweaked version. I performed the following steps:
1. start up the PC -> the PC is not shown in Off Remote
2. restart the Off Helper service -> the PC will appear in the Off Remote list
3. opened Off configuration
4. sent log file

With the work around (starting the Off Helper service with a delay) I was able to fix it for most of my PC's except one which is running Win 7 HP 32bit. The PC appears on the Off Remote list but cannot be connected. It prompt for the password and is circleing after entering it. I am getting a status 'not connected'. Sometimes I get 'getting address'. I will send a log file for this as well.

Quick update regarding the crash when opening the log file of version 3.04.
I checked it on another PC and there I could open the log without using the tweaked
version.
The difference of both is that the system where I got the problem with the log is 64bit OS.
The PC where it worked is a 32bit OS. Not sure if this is the reason.

this is clearly a different issue. My guess is that it is related to a firewall on the PC or (less likely) your router.
The 'connection help' button in the helper will run you through some tests to pinpoint the problem

I can confirm the firewall issue for this one. After switching it off I passed test no. 3 from the configuration help. When I looked to the firewall setup everything looked fine however there seems to be something wrong. I will delete all rules for the Off Helper and will start from scratch with the setup.
