How to turn ON my macbook

Off Remote is awesome. Unfortunately, I didn't read all my fine print when I bought it. I currently have my laptop in the basement, and then play movies etc off it, wirelessly to my appletv.

Now, whenever I leave my house, I have to go downstairs to turn off my macbook (so that I can stop having movies stream off it onto my apple tv).

Question:

1. Off remote is great, because now, I don't have to go downstairs to turn off my computer, I just do it via the app. My question is this: is there any app out there (or some creative solution) where I can turn my Mac book ON? Thus, I don't have to go downstairs at all?

I use the remote app to control what's playing on my macbook to my appletv. I use the Off Remote to turn off my macbook. But I need something to turn it on now!
