the source is available as an example app for web os though, so there might be someone willing to play.

Having just purchased a touchpad and found it's interface excellent and that 300,000 have also been sold in the last few weeks surley there must be some market for webOS apps, a port of the vlc streamer would be the most useful addition to your range, can we not also beg VLC for a fully featured webOS port of their player ?

you're welcome to beg VLC. You'll probably get further with the web os internals folks.

I have a feeling VLC has support for sdl, so it might not be crazy hard.

re 300k devices, it sounds like a lot, but until HP announces good news on the future of the platform, it's a one-off, and just doesn't make sense for me to cater to.

compare it to apple who are expected to sell 20ish million devices next quarter.

I hope HP pulls something out of the hat - but no web os work until then...
